Music
Students at ÎÞÂëÁ÷³öAV are encouraged to participate in co-curricular music activities available throughout the School. The School has an excellent reputation in choral, band, orchestral and contemporary performance, as well as a vibrant chamber music program, and outstanding guest artists are engaged every year through our Artist in Residence program to work with our students. Guest artists have included Will Vinson and Jo Lawry, The Idea of North, Ashlin Parker, Ray Vega, Leroy Jones, Don Burrows, Kevin Hunt and Tommy Emmanuel.
Individual music lessons, ensembles and performance opportunities are available in each of the Junior, Middle and Senior schools. Opportunities to join music tours become available from time to time, including to the annual Generations in Jazz Festival in Mount Gambier.
Drama and Film
Drama and Film co-curricular activities at ÎÞÂëÁ÷³öAV provide many exciting opportunities for students and have lit the creative fire for of many of our renowned old scholars - now professional actors, filmmakers, and designers.
Every second year, Middle School students can participate as singers, dancers, performers and backstage workers in the School Musical, a large and popular production performed in a professional theatre venue.
Some students develop a keen interest in lighting and sound operation, design for set, costume, hair, make-up or publicity. There are plenty of opportunities for students to hone these skills through the numerous drama productions performed across the School, including SACE and IB Theatre productions. IB students have the opportunity to participate in a co-curricular play as part of the CAS program.
Film Club is offered to students from Year 7 to 9 who are interested in developing their skills and knowledge in making short films. Students are introduced to practical film-making techniques before planning and developing their own film projects. The annual Unreel Festival is ÎÞÂëÁ÷³öAV’s own mini-Academy Awards ceremony, providing students with the opportunity to share their work with the wider ÎÞÂëÁ÷³öAV ÎÞÂëÁ÷³öAV.
Visual Art
Art classes are offered after school for students to explore and hone their artistic skills beyond the core curriculum art program.
We offer after school Ceramics, General Drawing, Life Drawing and Watercolour classes.
